U14 AA Evaluations - 2025-2026 Season
FROM RINGETTE ALBERTA
Exciting Changes Coming to U14AA Evaluations for 2025-2026!
The Ringette Associations across the Capital Region, are excited to introduce a new and improved process for selecting players for U14AA teams next season.
What’s Changing?
For the 2025-2026 season, Associations are working together to make the evaluation process more consistent and fair across the board. This means:
- All players will have the same opportunity to be evaluated, no matter which association they belong to.
- Players will be placed at the tier that best matches their skill level.
- Everyone will try out through one streamlined AA evaluation process and be seen by all participating Associations.
How Will It Work?
- Players register for AA Evaluations with their home Association. Non-host Association players register with their primary choice host AA Association.
- During registration, players can also indicate other AA teams, if any, they’d be open to playing for.
- Each host AA Association will run 2-3 evaluation skates and UAA testing between August 21-27.
- From there, approximately 20 AA-ready players per host Association will be invited to Centralized Evaluations from August 28-30.
Here’s how the Centralized Evaluations will run:
- Athletes chosen to move forward with the Centralized Evaluation will participate in 3 additional skates.
- After Skate 1, Coaches can “protect” players from their own host evaluations that they have selected for their team.
- Skates 2 and 3, Coaches will receive a list of available players who have indicated a willingness to play for their Association, who were not ‘protected’ by their Host Association.
- Only coaches and the AA Evaluation Oversight Committee will know who is protected/unprotected—this info won't be shared with families.
- Coaches will build their final rosters based on the available unprotected player pool (Host Association athletes or those who indicated a willingness to play).
